We're a supportive, creative, fun group of families who enjoy playing with each other and our kids! Our thirteen students range in age from 3 ½ to 5. Parent involvement is essential and integral to the school, with parents active daily in the classroom, at the monthly Board meetings, and assisting in many other ways.
We believe that socio-emotional and cognitive growth are fostered in a safe environment that includes making choices and negotiating social situations. We are committed to providing a balance between free play and structured activities. A variety of activities are available every day, including playdough, sand, art materials, puzzles and games, blocks, painting, climbing and dramatic play opportunities. The curriculum is based on a routine of playing, exploring materials, making friends and understanding one's place in the community of children, parents and teacher.
We seek a teacher January 23 through April 13, with 3 paid sick/personal days and February vacation week off. Teacher hours are approximately 8-1:30 (student hours 8:30-1). You must be Lead Teacher certified by the EEC, or become certified (see page 11 for qualifications: http://www.mass.gov/edu/docs/eec/prof-development/eec-certificationapp.pdf)
