Gentle Dragon Preschool encourages the development of the whole child, utilizing a program which combines a predictable structure with frequent opportunities for individual choice and movement through different activities. We believe children should develop and learn at their own pace.

Play is central to our curriculum and is valued as the most important way young children learn about themselves and the world.

We see each child as unique. Children are encouraged to freely express their ideas and feelings in a variety of ways. At the same time, emphasis is placed on the child's growing awareness of a "social self," learning how to relate to others with kindness, cooperation and respect. We believe that socio-emotional and cognitive growth are fostered in a safe environment that includes making choices and negotiating social situations.
